Abstract:
Media systems across the world are becoming increasingly alike with regard to their products, professional practices and cultures, and their relationship with other political and social institutions. These trends of convergence can be found on different levels, especially from a media systems perspective, but also on economic, technical, and content levels as well as in news and journalistic routines. Some scholars identify a trend toward global homogenization of media systems.
