Boost for the business: Network Organizations in Silicon Valley
Projektbeschreibung:
Silicon Valley is known as one of the most agile and vibrant regions for technological innovation and fast-paced business manufacturing world-wide. This project examines the network design and capabilities of eleven business building organizations, i.e., incubators and accelerators, in Silicon Valley, in form of case studies. An indepth network analysis is conducted to reveal internal and external network structures and identify explanations for the patterns, observed in the process. It is found that the incubator versus accelerator dichotomy fails to provide a helpful clustering from a network-theoretical viewpoint. Hence, an alternative classification is developed in this project, permitting a division into those organizations supplying innovation management expertise to external network ties and those demanding it from others.
