Acceptance of Applied Artificial Intelligence

Projektbeschreibung:
The emerging field of artificial intelligence is considered to have the potential to disruptively alter the economic and societal landscape and the relation between humans and technology. The benefit-centered technology acceptance model is insufficient to explain user attitudes towards this new class of autonomously acting technologies. Thus, an adaption of the model is developed, suggesting that acceptance of applied AI is determined by benefits, trust and the respective societal discourse. Based on research from cognitive engineering, sociology and psychology, a multiple case study was conducted in order to derive strategies how firms can promote acceptance and trust in intelligent technologies.
