Open Innovation Maturity Framework

Projektbeschreibung:
The effectiveness and efficiency of innovation activities are gaining importance as they not only determine a firm’s competitive advantage, but its very survival (Söderquist and Godener, 2004). The measurement of innovation management helps to monitor and optimize innovation activities (Chiesa et al., 2010, 1996; Kerssens-van Drongelen et al., 2000). However, innovation measurement is difficult because the level of effort may not be observable, project success is uncertain, influenced by factors that cannot be controlled, and success can only be assessed after long delays, or could be credited to other organizational units (Loch and Tapper, 2002). In times where the innovation process is opened up in order to profit from external resources, metrics to evaluate excellence in this new approach are yet non-existing (Enkel et al. 2009).
