Conservation of endangered bird species in Ecuador- developing management strategies based on biological and human dimensions

Projektbeschreibung:
I will develop management strategies for two endangered tropical bird species addressing both the species specific biological factors as well as the human dimension that is linked to the project. Both bird species, the El Oro Parakeet (Pyrrhura orcesi) and the Pale-headed Brushfinch (Atlapetes pallidiceps) are endemic to Ecuador and differ in life-history and population characteristics as well as their main threats, making them ideal study species to evaluate a range of management options for the conservation of the species.
