Alpine habitat dynamics and avian biodiversity in different land-use regimes on the eastern Tibetan plateau

Projektbeschreibung:
The research will examine land-use change history and their ecological impacts in the eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Integrating approaches of historical ecology and remotely-sensed image analysis, we are going to reconstruct land-use history from 1980s to present at a local scale to understand the change of land-use intensity. We will develop the grazing disturbance gradient for different land-use regimes. After that, two breeding-season bird surveys will be carried out to understand avian biodiversity distribution patterns under varied land-use intensity levels and test the landscape matrix effect.
