Radioonkologie und Bildgebung; Biologische Individualisierung im Bereich der Radioonkologie

Projektbeschreibung:
In concordance with the overall aims of the program program radiation oncology and imaging we will pursue in the project biological individualization of radiation oncology with the following specifi c aims: 1) Evaluation of functional imaging for individualized radiotherapy. Preclinical and clinical studies will be performed to validate PET and MR based bioimaging methods for patient stratifi cation for radiation dose escalation and dose-painting, target volume defi nition and response monitoring during and after radio-oncological treatment. 2) Radiobiological evaluation of biomarkers for radiation oncology. Preclinical and clinical studies will be performed on different putative biomarkers to test their prognostic and predictive value specifi c for radiobiological parameters determining treatment resistance. 3) Molecular targeting and theragnostics for individualized radiation oncology. Novel molecular drugs and theragnostic radiopharmaceuticals will be investigated preclinically for their potential to enhance the response of tumors to radio-oncological therapies.
