Pyrrolizidin-Alkaloide: Vorkommen, ökologische Funktionen, Risiken
Projektbeschreibung:
Pyrrolizidin-Alkaloide (PA) stellen eine große Gruppe von Esteralkaloiden unterschiedlicher Struktur dar. Sie bestehen aus einem Necinalkohol und einer Necinsäure, die offenkettige Mono- oder Diester oder makrozyklische Diester bilden und in der Natur (in Pflanzen wie in sie speichernden Insekten) üblicherweise als N-oxide vorliegen. 1,2-Dehydropyrrolizidine werden von Wirbeltieren zu Pyrrolen verstoffwechselt, welche hepatotoxisch wirken. Aus 560 Pflanzenarten, die hauptsächlich den Familien Asteraceae (Eupatorieae, Senecioneae), Boraginaceae, Apocynaceae und Fabaceae angehören, wurden bislang etwa 370 Strukturen identifiziert; eine Pflanze produziert in der Regel ein Gemisch verschiedener PA.
