3D optical dental profiling

Projektbeschreibung:
This project aims to develop and demonstrate new concepts for contact-free three-dimensional optical profiling of tooth surfaces. Using novel approaches for fringe projection as well as new means for achieving extremely large depth of field for imaging, the entire system will have extreme demands on miniaturization and robustness. Through extensive modeling combined with prototype development and assembly, we aim to demonstrate a very flat system with which a complete dental scan will be possible with few demands on tooth preparation or probe positioning.
